Delete your Spotago account — from the app, or from here.
This page is for the Spotago app, published by Spotago LLC. It explains how to delete your account or your data, what is removed when you do, and the one thing that is kept. Nothing on this page needs you to explain yourself.
Last updated 20 September 2026.
From inside the app
- Open Spotago and go to Settings.
- Under Account, choose Delete account.
- Read the list of what will be removed, then type DELETE to confirm.
Deletion happens immediately, on our servers, while you are still on that screen. The app signs you out and returns to the start; the credential it was holding stops working the moment the account is gone.
From this page, with your email and password
If you no longer have the app but you linked an email address and password to your account, you can delete it right here. This form signs in to your account with what you type, deletes it, and forgets what you typed — the address and password are handed to the app's servers once and are not stored by this website.
This is the real thing, not a request. Pressing the button deletes the account immediately and permanently. There is no grace period.
Accounts that never linked an email and password — which is most of them, because Spotago does not ask for either — cannot use this form: there is nothing a web page could check. For those, use the app, or the request below.
If you cannot sign in: ask us to do it
Use this when you have uninstalled the app and your account had no email and password, or you have forgotten the password. We will confirm the account is yours — a link to a post you made, or the rough place and date of one, is usually enough — and delete it by hand. We act on every request within 30 days, normally within a few days.
You can also simply email hello@spotago.com with the subject “Delete my Spotago account”. Same process, same 30 days.
Deleting some things without deleting the account
You do not have to delete the account to remove content.
- Your own posts. In the app, any post you made can be deleted individually from My Posts. The photograph behind it is removed from storage at the same time, not just the entry that points at it.
- Likes and saves. Un-like or un-save in the app and the record is deleted, not hidden.
- Anything else, or without the app: use the request form above and choose specific posts or data only. Tell us what to remove and we will do it by hand, within 30 days.
- A photograph of you, your home or your car taken by someone else is a different case: send a takedown notice from the photograph's menu in the app (Request a takedown, for an account with an email, Google or Apple sign-in attached), or sign in to the takedown form on the web with the email and password attached to your Spotago account. Notices are never anonymous, so neither door can be turned against people; nothing changes on receipt, and every notice is decided within minutes by AI, and by a person when needed. No Spotago account? Email hello@spotago.com with the link to the post and we will deal with it by hand within 30 days.
What is deleted
Everything the account owns, in this order:
- Your posts, and the photographs behind them — the stored image files and thumbnails, not just the entries that point at them.
- Your likes and saves, and the likes and saves other people gave your posts.
- Your taste profile — what the feed had learned about what you look at.
- The reports you filed about posts, the accounts you blocked, and the invite codes you held.
- Your email address and password, if you linked them.
- The account itself. There is no hidden or “deactivated” copy: the row is removed, not flagged.
What is kept, with no account attached to it. Rows in our append-only usage records — counts of how the app is used, such as that a feed page was served or a photo was viewed — are kept, and your account is detached from them. Afterwards they exist with no account attached, so nothing in them points back at you, and they age out on their own schedule (90 days). They are detached rather than deleted because removing rows from an append-only log would falsify every total taken before you left. The record of each screening decision made about a photograph is also kept, keyed to the post rather than to you, as evidence that the system did its job.
Problem reports you sent from Report a problem are treated the same way. The record linking a report to your account is deleted with the account; the words of the report stay on our private issue tracker, with no account attached, so that what went wrong can still be fixed. If a report you wrote contains something about you that you want removed, email hello@spotago.com and we will delete it by hand within 30 days.
Timing
Deletion in the app or from this page is immediate and permanent. There is no grace period and no way to recover the account afterwards. Copies in our routine backups age out on the backups’ own short cycle and are never restored into the live service. Requests made by form or email are completed within 30 days.
